Music Video - Holocene

To practise our video production skills in preparation for our marked A2 video coursework, we have been set the task of designing, filming and editing a music video for a song of our choice.

I am in a group with Amy Wootten, and our song choice is Holocene by Bon Iver. We searched for the lyrics and lyric meanings, and picked up on a number of the lyrics to focus our video theme around. One particular lyric that caught our attention was "at once I knew I was not magnificent", and decided to build on this idea. Having known from the start were going to film a narrative-led music video, we developed the idea for the video to be a girl suffering from depression. While not a particularly cheery narrative, it was convenient: we only needed one person to act in the video, which Amy was willing to do.
